My story

Ministry Experience

1999

Michael began serving in church planting ministry and local church leadership, developing a passion for discipleship, worship ministry, and helping people follow Christ.

2001

Michael entered youth ministry leadership at Crossroads Ministry Centre, investing in students, families, teaching, and discipleship. During this season, he also began a pastoral ministry internship, growing in biblical teaching, shepherding, and ministry leadership.

2004

Michael attended Nelson University to study Church Planting and Revitalization while preparing for pastoral ministry. During this season, he served in multiple church planting internships throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area, gaining hands-on ministry and leadership experience.

2006

Michael planted a church and served as a lead pastor in South Louisiana for the first time, focusing on biblical teaching, discipleship, and building a healthy church community. During this season, God continued shaping his heart for pastoral ministry and caring for people through everyday life struggles.

2010

Michael continued serving in pastoral leadership in Shreveport, Louisiana, while also investing in Christian education and student development. During this season, God deepened his passion for discipleship, teaching Scripture, and helping families grow in their faith.

2015

While serving as a Lead pastor in Pineville, Louisiana, Michael spent years counseling, mentoring, and walking with people through difficult seasons of life and faith. God used these experiences to deepen both his compassion and dependence on Scripture.

2019

Following a painful season of divorce and personal loss, Michael walked through a season of healing, spiritual growth, and renewed dependence on Christ. During this time, God used Scripture, suffering, and discipleship to deepen his compassion for others and his passion for biblical counseling.

2023

In a season marked by both restoration and suffering, Michael remarried and also faced a battle with cancer. Through it all, God deepened his dependence on Christ and strengthened his compassion for those walking through hardship and uncertainty.

2025

Michael founded Cornerstone Biblical Counseling to provide compassionate, Christ-centered care rooted in the sufficiency of God’s Word and the hope of the gospel.

Present

Michael and his wife, Tara, are actively involved at Norris Ferry Community Church, where Michael serves on the worship team, helps lead a community group, and has taught core classes. Together, they are committed to building a Christ-centered home and investing in the life of the local church.
